What Can I Do?
There are lots of ways you can help FindAFountain and help reduce waste associated with bottled water:
(1) Use nearby drinking fountains and encourage others to use them too - click on the Fountain Map above.
(2) Send a quick message to your MP or Councillor - Email your local authority or MP. It only takes 2 minutes (instructions below).
(3) Lobby Companies - It's not just governments that should provide drinking fountains. Sports & music venues, airports, train stations should provide an alternative to bottled water but many fail to do so.
(4) Follow us on Facebook and Twitter - By becoming a Fan on Facebook you are signalling ot the government and other organisations that people care about this issue.

The taxes you pay are being spent on disposing of plastic bottles, when they could be spent much more sensibly on installing and restoring drinking water fountains. We estimate that London consumes 400 million bottles a year (c.11 million bottles per borough). Each of those bottles needs to be collected, sorted and recycled (or in most cases, sent to landfill).
Drinking water fountains are being neglected in three ways:
There aren't enough of them. - For example, there is one outdoor fountain for every 100,000 Londoners.
They are in the wrong place. - If fountains are to provide a viable alternative to bottled water they need to be in busy locations. There are no fountains on Oxford Street (which gets 200 million visitors year).
People don't know where they are. - They are rarely signposted and few local authorities provide a map of drinking fountains on their website.
Take two minutes to send a message to your local MP or councillor telling them you support our campaign. If you live in the UK, simply go to WriteToThem.Com.

<3> Lobby Companies
If you feel a particular company should provide a drinking fountain, then write to that company or complain verbally. Most companies now have a Head of Corporate Social Responsibility.
